These Terms of Service govern your use of the Engraved by Chris website and your purchase of products from Engraved by Chris.

By using our website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms of Service.

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under applicable UK consumer protection law.

1. About Engraved by Chris

Engraved by Chris is a laser engraving business producing personalised and non-personalised engraved products.

Products are made by Engraved by Chris based on the product description and, where applicable, the personalisation details, photographs, images, logos, artwork or other instructions provided by the customer.

2. Products and Personalisation

We take reasonable care to ensure that product descriptions and images on our website are accurate.

Due to the nature of handmade and engraved products, there may be minor variations in appearance between products and photographs displayed on the website.

Where you order a personalised product, you are responsible for checking all information you provide before placing your order.

This includes:

  • Names and spelling.

  • Dates.

  • Messages or other text.

  • Photographs and images.

  • Logos and artwork.

  • Other personalisation instructions.

We will produce the item based on the information and files supplied with your order.

3. Customer-Supplied Photos, Logos and Artwork

Where you provide a photograph, image, logo, design, artwork or other material for use in your order, you confirm that:

  • You have the necessary rights, permission or authority to provide and use the material.

  • Your use of the material does not infringe another person's intellectual property, privacy or other legal rights.

  • You have obtained any necessary consent from people appearing in photographs or other supplied material.

You must not provide material that is unlawful, defamatory, abusive, threatening, discriminatory or otherwise inappropriate.

We reserve the right to refuse an order where we reasonably believe that supplied material may infringe another person's rights or may expose Engraved by Chris to legal or other risks.

You remain responsible for the material you provide.

4. Orders

When you place an order through our website, you are making an offer to purchase the selected product or products.

An order confirmation will normally be sent after your order has been received.

An order is subject to acceptance and availability.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order where necessary, including where:

  • A product is unavailable.

  • There is an obvious pricing or product description error.

  • Supplied personalisation or artwork is unsuitable for production.

  • We reasonably believe the order may be fraudulent or unlawful.

  • We are unable to fulfil the order for reasons outside our reasonable control.

If we cancel an order after payment has been taken, you will receive a refund for the cancelled order.

5. Order Cancellations

Because personalised and engraved products may be prepared specifically for your order, orders cannot be cancelled once they have been placed.

By placing an order, you acknowledge that production may begin following receipt of the order.

This does not affect your statutory rights where an item is faulty, damaged, not as described or otherwise does not meet applicable legal requirements.

6. Prices

Prices are displayed on the website at the time you place your order.

We reserve the right to change prices at any time, but changes will not affect an order that has already been accepted.

We take reasonable care to ensure that prices are displayed correctly. If an obvious pricing error occurs, we may contact you before fulfilling the order.

7. Payment

Payments are processed through Shopify Payments using the payment methods made available at checkout.

Payment must be successfully completed before an order is processed, unless otherwise stated.

Engraved by Chris does not have access to or store your full payment-card details where payment is processed through Shopify Payments.

8. Production and Delivery

We will aim to produce and dispatch orders within the timeframe stated on the relevant product page or during the ordering process.

Delivery times may vary depending on the product, order volume, delivery service and circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Once an order has been dispatched, delivery is subject to the relevant delivery service.

If your order is delayed, lost or damaged during delivery, please contact us through the Contact Us form on our website so that we can investigate the issue.

9. Personalised Products and Customer Errors

Once a personalised product has been produced, it cannot normally be changed or remade because the customer has subsequently noticed an error in the information they supplied.

This includes incorrect:

  • Spelling.

  • Names.

  • Dates.

  • Messages.

  • Photographs.

  • Images.

  • Logos.

  • Artwork.

Where the product has been made correctly according to the information supplied by the customer, we are not responsible for errors contained in that information.

This does not affect your statutory rights where the error was made by Engraved by Chris or where the product otherwise fails to meet applicable legal requirements.

10. Damaged, Faulty or Incorrect Products

If your product arrives damaged, is faulty, contains an engraving error caused by us, or is materially different from what you ordered, please contact us through the Contact Us form.

We may ask you to provide photographs or other information to help us investigate the issue.

Where appropriate, we will provide a replacement or refund in accordance with our Returns & Refund Policy and your statutory consumer rights.

11. Returns and Refunds

Returns and refunds are handled in accordance with our Returns & Refund Policy.

Personalised and engraved items cannot normally be returned simply because you have changed your mind.

This does not affect your statutory rights where an item is faulty, damaged, not as described or otherwise fails to meet applicable legal requirements.

12. Intellectual Property

All content on the Engraved by Chris website, including text, photographs, graphics, logos, designs and other materials, is owned by or licensed to Engraved by Chris unless otherwise stated.

You must not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, sell or commercially exploit website content without our prior written permission, except where permitted by law.

You retain ownership of intellectual property that you provide to us, subject to the rights necessary for us to use that material to fulfil your order.

By submitting artwork, photographs, logos or other materials to us, you grant Engraved by Chris permission to use, reproduce and modify those materials only as reasonably necessary to produce and fulfil your order.

13. Website Use

You agree to use the Engraved by Chris website lawfully and responsibly.

You must not:

  • Use the website for fraudulent or unlawful purposes.

  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website or its systems.

  • Introduce malicious software or code.

  • Interfere with the operation or security of the website.

  • Use the website to infringe another person's rights.

We may restrict or suspend access to the website where reasonably necessary to protect the website, our business or other users.

14. Privacy

Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

By using our website and placing an order, you acknowledge that your information will be processed as described in our Privacy Policy.

15. Our Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.

We do not exclude or limit your statutory consumer rights.

We will not be responsible for delays or failures caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.

  • Equipment failure.

  • Supplier or material shortages.

  • Delivery-service disruption.

  • Government action.

  • Strikes or other significant disruption.

Where reasonably possible, we will keep you informed and take reasonable steps to minimise the impact.

If you are a consumer, you will also retain any mandatory rights and protections provided to you under the laws that apply to your circumstances.
